Biography

Born and raised in South Africa, Sandy lives in Cape Town. She has a studio at her home, where she spends her days passionately creating works of art.

Art classes with a well-known water colour artist in her early teen years aided the natural evolution of Sandy's talent. In 1994 she began her journey as a full-time artist, exhibiting her work at various exhibitions.

Each artwork is created using a combination of various mediums - pastels, pencils, inks, acrylics and gouache. Sandy's use of colour is instinctive and she is gently obsessed with fine detail. Through her artwork she portrays human emotions and feelings. It is important to Sandy that each one of her paintings preserves its unmistakable individuality. It is also re-assuring for her, that admirers of her work recognise it through her unique style.

Sandy's work is exhibited at various galleries in the Cape. Her artwork hangs in many private and corporate collections throughout South Africa and the world.
